He's a great actor, but my opinion of him went way down after I met him in 2005. He was on Passions at the time and was at a fan event in Nashville. He barely said two words to me and never even looked at me. He signed an autograph, took a quick pic, and then he was outta there. When he did talk he was very rude and cold, and he didn't even attempt to hide the fact that he was dreading the whole interaction.
As far as Adam goes, I think we'll need a new head writer before the character will return anyway. Sussman has made it pretty clear she has no desire to write for him. I don't see Michael Muhney returning and I agree that Justin Hartley won't either, so I think they'd have to recast again, which wouldn't be a bad thing as long as they get a pretty strong actor to play him.

In 2005? He was quite the newbie then, think maybe he was overwhelmed a little? That was 17 years ago. I'm sure he's grown since then, and then again, maybe he just had other things on his mind. They do have another life. Maybe he had to go pee and just wanted it all over with. LMAO I remember a girl on another board years ago, she decided she hated Eric Braden, because she passed by him in an airport and he had the nerve, lol , not to acknowledge her.

No, I think he just wasn't being very friendly to fans during a scheduled fan event. It's not like I walked up to him on the street or in an airport lol. This was a public appearance that only lasted about an hour or so. I wasn't expecting him to treat me like royalty or anything, but he could have at least said hi back to me. I mean that's kind of basic human interaction 101 lol.
I get you're a fan of his and i'm not saying he's a terrible person and that I hate him, I just shared my experience meeting him.

If they do recast Adam (and they just might. You notice how a lot of Sally stuff has been dropped like Jill and Colin and Lauren upfront and Philly happening. I think her bosses are listening more to what some of the fans want and not Sally) they need to hire someone who feels like getting a role on a soap is big step in their career and not someone like Justin who was ready to move away from soaps years ago.

I'm just saying, maybe he was having a bad day, we all have them, and I wouldn't judge the man by one incident that was probably not intentional. If he was someone who was known for being an ass, then that would be different. JMO

Maybe he just didn't like me lol. And he might have just been having a bad day, but you know what they say about first impressions.
You said that when he did talk he was very rude and cold, what did he say? Just curious. He didn't say much. I said something about loving is work on the show (Passions) and he sarcastically said "thanks" gave a slight sigh, and then said "Let's take this picture." It was said in a "okay let's get this over with" kind of way. And this was after he completely ignored me after I said hi to him. He never even made eye contact with me. His eyes never looked up from what he was signing until he was ready to take the pic. It was just clear that he would have rather been doing anything else than talking to me. I think it took me aback not because I felt personally offended by the whole thing, but he was my favorite actor on the show. I was definitely a fan of his. It's not like I started hating him or anything after, but it was disappointing and I've never forgotten that interaction over the years.
I get that he doesn't know me and that he might have been having a bad day, but you're meeting fans. It's kind of like when you're at work, you kind of have to leave whatever is going on in your personal life at the door and remain friendly to customers or co-workers.

I'm sorry your encounter with one of your favorite actors wasn't more pleasant. You should hit him up on twitter. Tell him of your encounter with him and then ask, "Hey, are you still rude to your fans?" I bet you'd get an sincere apology. I remember Sammy Davis Jr. saying that if you're in a bad mood and don't feel like dealing with the public on that day, then stay home because if you're rude to someone they're going to remember that forever. And MST (Nikki) tells a terrific story how she rushing through the airport and brisk with a fan who had approached her and that fan turn out to be Aretha Franklin. She said she was so embarrassed when she realized who it was.

But she wouldn't have been embarassed if it had been just a regular fan :blulaugh: . Not exactly very sweet of her.

I was so surprised he joined Y&R.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I knew someone would point that out. But she probably learned her lesson to be gracious to any fan who approaches you politely. Queen Latifah just showed up out the blue at a restaurant in my hometown and she told the stunned owner that "Man, I'm hungry!" lol While she was eating the fans were busy snapping pictures and if she was bothered by it she sure didn't let on. She was just very friendly and having fun with the fans.
